- Amy and Trish’s project they’ve been working on is… a MOVIE! That’s right both former WWE Divas will be starring in an ‘over the top omage to Mexican wrestling films”. More information about this project will be provided as it moves along in development.

- Amy’s opening her own restaurant! It’ll be called “Java Lord’s Lucha Lounge” and it will be a European coffee shop in Atlanta. She says she’s getting it all set up and a November opening is looking good.

- The Luchagors are on hiatus, but are hoping to get back together for more music on by the first of next year. Shane is currently working on Atlanta’s Zombie Apocalypse Halloween attraction and Racci is touring in the Murderdolls with Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie.

accessAtlanta recently conducted an interview Luchagors’ guitarist Shane Morton, who plays Professor Morte’ in his theater production the Silver Scream Spookshow.

Of all the Plaza Theatre’s classic film-inspired events, the Silver Scream Spook Show has become one of its top draws each month. And with the Spook Show’s 4th anniversary and 100th show looming, its gregariously ghoulish denizens are taking a hiatus for the rest of the year following the July 31 show, featuring a showing of “Godzilla on Monster Island.”

Rather than retreat to Monster Island for a fiendish furlough, however, Morte, Retch and the rest of the Spook Show crew will begin working on episodes of a potential Spook Show TV series directed by Plaza owner Jonny Rej.

“It’s like ‘The Munsters’ meets ‘Pee-wee’s Playhouse,’” says Shane Morton, who plays Morte. “The premise is that Morte and Retch are real and you’ll see their trials and tribulations as they prepare for the Spook Show at the Plaza.”

With animated segments by Mark Butler of Emmy-winning Secret File Animation, “The Monkeys”-like musical segments featuring tracks from last year’s Spook Show CD and other expansions of Silver Scream’s variety show format, Morton says the TV show “still has the essence of the Spook Show, but more polished.”

The Spook Show will return to the Plaza in October for its anniversary show, and this weekend’s edition will be even more over-the-top than usual. In the interim, Spook Show spin-off Splatter Cinema will take over the last Saturday of each month with Splatterday Night Live, a salacious sketch comedy show followed by screenings of slasher and exploitation movies.

This could mean our lovely Amy will be returning to TV! She stars alongside Shane’s Professor Morte in the Spookshow as SpooksModel Pandora.

I’m pretty sure if this does work, the show will broadcast on [adult swim]. Shane has worked with them on countless occassions and their HeadQuarters are right in Atlanta.

The Silver Scream Spookshow is a half-hour comedy bit that is performed the last Saturday of every month at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. For those of you who don’t live in Atlanta or have never had the chance to attend the show, this is great news!

Hello everyone! I just got back from seeing The ‘Gors at the Monster Bash in Atlanta! & I give to you 93 exclusive photos from the show! More is definitely to come though, so stay tuned! (:

Encounter: So, we got to the Bash at 12 and Amy was over by the Spookshow/Gors booth. We looked around at the other boots for a while, and then finally came over to their booth. We looked at the Gors stuff and Amy noticed my mom. She said she remembered her from the halloween parade. Then she asked me if I wanted anything and I said “I already have everything!” lol & she was like “Oh, well, we need more stuff then!” She also told me she liked me shirt. My mom asked if I wanted the Spookshow CD so I said yeah, and we bought that.

We went and sat back down practically until The Gors were up. As you can see in the pics, Amy and The Gors were dressed up as luchalibre mexican wrestlers; the style Amy trained for in Mexico and also what part of the band’s name is for (duh!) They went through about five or six songs, plus a new one I didn’t recognize; and even covered The Ramones. I didn’t understand a lot of what Amy said because she was speaking spanish, lol, but once they were done, we waited for her to get changed.

Then I FINALLY got a picture with her after meeting her for like the fifth time, but once she had disappeared, my mom realized the camera phone had screwed up so the pic didn’t take! (ugh!) But, at the end of the month, we’re going to see the Spookshow so I’m crossing my fingers to get a pic w/ her there!

Long story, short: The Luchagors are fucking awesome. And if you haven’t yet, and you get the chance, do NOT pass up seeing them live!
